A great way to KICK off a great year!!!!

Looking for a great way to become more involved in the Kiwanis family??  How about a great new way to get sponsorship for your Circle K club or the New Jersey District??  KICK, Kiwanis Invest in Circle K, is just the way to accomplish both!!  KICK is what used to be considered our Outreach program.  We’ve revamped the program and gave it an acronym, because everyone knows Circle K loves acronyms!!
Now you may be wondering, what is KICK and how can I get involved?? Basically KICK is a way to get Kiwanis clubs more involved with the New Jersey District.  This is a great way to get some monetary donations for the district.  It is also a great way to get your club involved in socials and service projects with Kiwanis clubs.  What can you do to get a KICK program started in your area??  Now is the best time to start!  Kiwanis clubs will be making their budgets for the 2006-2007 year very soon and you want to visit them and ask them to add KICK in their budget!  You can visit a local Kiwanis club near you simply by calling and asking to be a guest speaker at one of their meetings.  A directory of Kiwanis clubs in NJ is available by emailing any district board member.
Once you are invited to be a guest speaker you should decide on what you are going to say.  You should start by describing the program.  “KICK, Kiwanis invest in Circle K, is a program, formally called Outreach, to gain Kiwanis involvement in Circle K through donations and service projects.”  You may want to then describe the needs of the district or your club.  The Kiwanis Club may be able to donate copier toner, office max/staples gift cards, paper and other office supplies rather than just donating monetarily.
Once you have given your speech it would be professional to thank the club for their consideration and for allowing you to come speak at their meeting.  If your club is having any events or projects in the upcoming weeks it would also be nice to invite them to join.  KICK isn’t just about donations; it’s also about getting Kiwanis more involved with Circle K.  Planning a service project with a donating Kiwanis club would be an awesome ide
